The IPY-5 Planning Group is comprised of representatives of international organisations. It meets twice a year and:

Task Groups will be set up by the IPY-5 Planning Group to work on specific aspects of the planning process in more detail. The task groups report back periodically to the IPY-5 Planning Group.
